Location Change For July 27 – Round 3
Due to unforeseen circumstances At Whitecap Mountain Resort in Upson, Wisconsin, round 3 of the border battle XC series on July 27 has been relocated to the soo pass ranch in Detroit lakes, Minnesota.
this move is not one that we take lightly as we truly wanted to bring the series back to a ski hill venue on lake superior, as well as co-sanction with our friends from AMA district 16 in Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. Unfortunately, it was recently brought to our attention that the location in Upson, Wisconsin is in foreclosure. we confirmed this with court documents filed in iron county, wisconsin and given the uncertainty of the situation have elected to not invest the time and resources necessary to create an entirely new course with the risk that the event could be cancelled on short notice.
on the bright side, our team has worked very hard to come up with a replacement venue that could be the next crown jewel of the series. thanks to the folks at soo pass ranch, we are bringing the first ever off-road motorcycle race to the home of the legendary We Fest Country music festival.

The new site features over 100 lakeside camping pads with electricity, all within site of vendor row and the start finish / line. In addition, the race course will feature a unique layout with approximately 4 miles of rolling wooded trail on each side of minnesota state highway 59, connected by a spacious concrete culvert under the road. located in the midst of one of minnesota’s most popular summer Vacation towns, this venue also offers the opportunity to put off-road racing in front of thousands of new spectators and expose trail riders from the nearby Fargo/Moorhead area to hare scrambles racing.
for those who may have already made reservations and placed deposits with whitecap Mt. we are working to resolve that situation but do not have a clear answer at the moment. if you reserved a camping spot with BBXC for the nearby county park in Upson, your deposit will be applied towards a reserved spot of your choice at Round 3, with the balance being refunded to your account. a map of reserved and remote campsites will be made available in the near future with the option to reserve directly with the series.
thank you to our event sponsors redMoto Honda and zach herfindhl racing, who have elected to continue their support of the event at the new location. and thank you for your understanding on this matter. we never like to make a mid-season change, but just as what happened last summer with the addition of the barnstormer in brainerd, we feel you will be more than happy with what the Rumble At the ranch delivers!
Sincerely,
Gary Walton
BBXC Series Director
