The 2023 schedule has been finalized and will bring a new look and feel to the series. A number of land closures and use limitations have prevented us from returning to some of our most popular venues this season so rather than take a full year off to establish new locations we have decided to temporarily go forward with a slightly smaller schedule that will still feature the full Border Battle XC experience and Pro payouts we have always delivered.
ERX Motor Park, our home venue since the inception of the series in 2018, will not be hosting events as of this spring. This means no BBXC hare scrambles, as well as Woods Wednesday ride nights. Fortunately, the folks at BCMX Adventure Park in nearby Cambridge, Minnesota have agreed to partner with the series for the opening round on June 10-11. This will also be our 2nd Annual Jesse Thelen Memorial race offering a substantial payout to the AA and A classes as well as product giveaways to the amateur classes.
Round one will be a two day race with a bit of a twist in race day schedule. Youth and AA/A riders will compete on Saturday and B/C classes will race on Sunday. This is opposite of our traditionally two day format but something that BCMX would like to trial run.
Round two will take place in Nevis, Minnesota on the course that was voted race of the the year in 2022. We will be connecting the two loops that made up last season’s Sprint Enduro and hold the event as a traditional Hare Scrambles.
Round three will see a return to Trax North in Crosby, Minnesota. This awesome venue features a variety of woods, fields and golf course-like moto track as well as a picturesque camping setting. Our team will spend considerable time this summer putting in new trail to deliver a fresh experience after some of the rain rut damage occurred during last year’s mudder.
Crosby will also be a two day race, however, this round will be run according to the traditional format with Youth and C classes on Saturday beginning at noon and B/A classes on Sunday.
With only three events on the schedule, all races will count towards a series championship and riders will be required to compete in all three rounds to qualify for year end awards.
More details regarding each race will be posted in the near future.
